Dear Beloved, as a professional ballerina, trauma survivor, and cinematic creative activist, I warmly invite you to an intentional, high-caliber evening of art and mental health advocacy along the magical Malibu coast.
This intimate gala is the kick off party to help raise funds for our upcoming short film, Fawn aka Mara and the High Council of 7 🥀 , written and directed by me, Toi’ya Leatherwood. Artfully crafted from my love of Edgar Allen Poe and the bravery of emboldened hearts, this deeply impactful short film uses an ethereally poetic, Shakespearean inspired world to unpack ‘fawning’ — an under-researched trauma response — and its direct connection to shame and suicide.
